  When I heard that I had the opportunity to begin Medi, my heart smiled like sunshine bursting through my whole being. I knew this was more than an opportunity, it was a gift. The past ten years carried me through several complicated surgeries and life changing events. It was through those times I added the weight. I developed diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure and strain on my heart. I was spending hundreds of dollars on medications and health care maintenance. I began the program with a positive out look feeling excitement like when a child finally gets to ride that new bike she got last Christmas. The staff was so kind, and respectful and encouraging, never looking at me the way some have in the past, "how could you let yourself go" Each week went by, and I continued to lose weight, each and every week. It wasn't large numbers after the first couple weeks, but it was steady and consistent. As the 6 week mark came I had a lost 25.4 lbs.! This was the most I had lost in ten years. Yes, my heart was skipping now, and so was I! The turning point for me was when I received the results from my A1c, blood sugar check at my ten week mark in the program. The results were a 5.3! Even now as I write this I can not stop grinning from ear to ear ! My heart was jumping up and down and cheering. This level was within the normal range. I no longer needed my insulin injections. Currently at the end of twelve weeks, I no longer need my sleep apnea machine, need to take insulin and have lost 43 lbs. I feel the number 5.3 is more exciting than the 43lbs.
